time to save reaper from the reaper
Posted on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 Since it seems that all I do anymore is post youtube & flickr video, photos, and entire articles that I steal from other sites ... here's another one :)
OK, technically, I suppose David Baldy - Bret's writing partner - is asking for them, but he's doing it on bretharrison.com, so it counts just the same. After noting that the LA Times has declared Reaper to be "on the bubble," the pair are suggesting fans flood CW HQ with socks. They even provide this handy amazon link to help you make your sock purchase.
Even if you don't want to join in by sending socks to support the show, you might at least consider digging out the old fountain pen and scribbling out a letter to send along to the network. I think writing it in your own blood captures the spirit of the show nicely, but that is totally optional; regular ink will work just fine. With a little luck we might be able to save the show from being relegated to the dreaded "Complete Series" DVD shelves.

Sir Ian McKellen has confirmed he will reprise his role as Gandalf in the film remake of JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit.
"Yes, it's true," he told Empire magazine. "It's not a part that you turn down. I loved playing Gandalf."
Two Hobbit films are planned for release in 2010 and 2011. They will be prequels to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson.
Guillermo del Toro has been named as the director of the movies, to be made back-to-back in New Zealand.
"I spoke to Guillermo in the very room that Peter Jackson offered me the part and he confirmed that I would be reprising the role," Sir Ian said.
He also said del Toro would be starting the script in about six weeks after he has finished filming current project, Hellboy 2.
According to studio New Line, the first film will be an adaptation of The Hobbit and the second will be an original story focusing on the 60 years between the book and the beginning of the Rings trilogy.
"As to how it's going to work over two films and what going to happen on screen, well Guillermo has not got down to working out the major details yet - I can tell you it's going to be amazing though," Sir Ian said.

Seven pro-Tibetan sovereignty activists were detained by police in San Francisco this afternoon after 3 of the protesters climbed the Golden Gate Bridge, unfurling a banner that read "One World, One Dream, Free Tibet '08."

It's pissing me off that the world is treating Flickr like a free stock photography website. I googled myself today and found my photos all over the web.
Granted that some of these are automatically generated pages ... but (especially in the case of Cat Chit Chat) these people are knowingly stealing my photos. What the hell?! If people like my photos so much, they can pay me to use them. Otherwise, get them the hell off your sites.
*** UPDATE: Cat Chit Chat has removed my photo, at my request. link |
